BEHIND THE WEBSITE
Design Studio Detroit came to us at a moment when their business had outgrown the website they had DIY’d years before. Their studio had evolved into a luxury interior design firm specializing in new builds and large-scale renovations, and while their work was timeless, warm, and deeply personal, their online presence wasn’t communicating that. They knew their website could do more - especially when it came to reflecting who they are, telling the story behind their design approach, and attracting clients who value the relationship-driven process they’re known for. They wanted a site that felt elevated but inviting, strategic but still true to the heart of their studio.
We started by digging into their goals, audience, and the experience they wanted their clients (and future clients) to feel when interacting with their brand. This strategy work became the foundation for everything else - how the website flowed, the way we communicated their process, and how we positioned them to stand out in both metro Detroit and the surrounding suburbs. THE BRANDING
Before designing the site itself, we refreshed their visual identity to better match the luxurious yet approachable feel of their work. We introduced custom typography that added an elevated, editorial tone and updated their brand colors and logos so everything felt cohesive and modern without losing warmth. We also created a detailed brand kit to give them consistency across all their studio documents, proposals, guides, and client-facing materials—allowing them to use the same visual language from their website throughout their entire business. This created a seamless brand experience that feels timeless, thoughtful, and unmistakably DSD.

THE WEBSITE
Once the strategy and branding were in place, we moved into a full website overhaul - every page redesigned from the ground up. The new Home, About, Services, Portfolio, Inquiry, and Builders pages were built to guide visitors through a clear, thoughtful journey that reflects the studio’s personality and values. We rewrote and restructured the site to speak directly to homeowners looking for a high-touch design experience as well as builders, contractors, and vendors who want a seamless working relationship with a design partner.
One of the most transformative pieces of the project was turning their featured portfolio projects into full case studies. Each one tells the story behind the work - how the client lived, what they needed, and how DSD brought their timeless, warm approach to life in a way that felt personal. For the Builders page, we created a dedicated space to explain exactly how DSD collaborates with industry partners, outline expectations, and make it simple for builders to understand the studio’s process and expertise.
On the backend, we streamlined their inquiry workflow by setting up email automations for new inquiries and potential-fit clients. This helped remove the friction they were feeling in managing leads while keeping the experience warm and responsive. Every part of the site is optimized for both desktop and mobile, giving visitors a seamless experience no matter how they land on the site. We also incorporated targeted SEO work to help them expand their reach beyond metro Detroit and connect with luxury project leads in surrounding areas - an important goal for the studio as they continue to grow.
